About Cat Jones PR
I’ve spent over a decade in the charity sector, leading award-winning PR teams and delivering campaigns that make a difference.
Before charity PR, I was a national journalist writing human interest stories for a range of magazines and newspapers. I still write regularly for outlets like Metro, Yahoo News, and Woman’s Own, keeping my storytelling sharp and media instincts fresh.
MY MISSION
to deliver strategic, values-led communications that raise awareness, shape policy, and drive real impact. Through strong relationships and honest collaboration, I help clients tell their stories with clarity, confidence, and heart.
My background
After studying English Literature at the University of Sheffield, I did a Masters in Journalism before starting work as a journalist for SWNS, sourcing, pitching, interviewing and writing stories for national newspapers and magazines.
I then worked in-house at national women's magazines before moving into PR, working at well-known charities such as Macmillan and The Childrens Society.
In 2023, I launched my own consultancy to work flexibly around my young daughter—and to help even more brilliant charities thrive.
My achievements
As Head of Media at Asthma + Lung UK, I led a communications strategy for our rebrand that boosted donations and resulted in us winning Communications Team of the Year at the Third Sector Awards.
I also led the team to win PR Team of the Year at the Charity Times Awards for our behaviour change campaign, creating a big impact on a small budget and for building strong relationships with journalists and case studies.

More about me
When I’m not working you’ll find me crafting or baking with my daughter, walking in the Kent countryside with friends or family, or curled up with a great murder mystery.
I also love a foodie fad - and hold a food-related Guinness World Record—but that’s a story for another time!
I once walked the London Underground over ground (380 miles) to raise thousands for charity
